The Gospel According To Columbo

Columbo is a great detective and loved over all the world - He even has a statue in Budapest. He looks messy and seems a bit distracted and completely disorganised  but when he is about to leave the crime scene, he scratches his head and utters the famous phrase “Just one more thing” and asks a great question. He always gets his man or woman.

Each episode unfolds in the same way. The viewer knows who the killer is and watches how Columbo solves the mystery

This Post-Easter time, we are going to be studying the whole of Mark’s Gospel looking at one story from each chapter each week. Mark is written with a fast pace, full of action and doesn’t really talk about Jesus’ birth or much of the post-resurrection story. Mark starts with “The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God” and it is the Columbo of the all the gospels. The reader knows that Jesus is the Son of God and died, buried and was resurrected but the reader doesn’t really know much about who Jesus is and what that means, what he did and why he came for us.

So, let’s grab our raincoats and work out together who this Jesus fella is.

… Just one more thing …
