Sion

Lent is the time of the year where Western Christians stop drinking coffee, eating chocolate and using facebook and become generally grumpy and miserable! The Tuesday before Lent, I’ll be eating lots of pancakes with lemon and sugar and thinking about Easter.
Lent is traditionally a time when Christians fast and try to draw close to God.There have been many scandals in the Wider church(as usual, unfortunately) and I’m aware of their impacts on my faith; the world seems darker than ever with less hope and I’m just trying to make ends meet.
I’m reminded of the worship song “the name of the lord is a strong tower, the righteous run into it and are saved" (proverb 18;10). I’m also going to be praying for us to feel closer to God and that the bridge festival comes together for us. The church is called to be a witness for Jesus and look after each other and I’m praying that we find more out of this lent.
